Before you send us anything
Privacy notice
You are about to send us your business details so we can price your gas and electricity. This page says exactly what we collect, where it is kept, who is allowed to see it and how to have it corrected or deleted. No long legal text — if anything here is unclear, email info@equalpayments.co.uk and ask.

Who we are
Equal Payments Ltd
Equal Payments Ltd is an independent UK business energy broker, registered in England and Wales, Company No. 13564738, based in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, and serving businesses across the UK. We decide how the details you send us are used, so under UK data protection law we are the data controller for them.

Where it goes
Our own database and our own inbox — nothing else
- Your request is saved in our own database, hosted on servers in the EU (Amazon Web Services, Ireland). It is not passed to any comparison website, lead buyer or marketing company.
- It is also emailed to our own address, info@equalpayments.co.uk, so a broker can pick it up and price it. Your email address is set as the reply-to, so when we answer it comes back to you directly.
- You get a confirmation email the moment it arrives, telling you we have it and that you will hear back within 24 hours. That email is sent to acknowledge your request — it is not a marketing message and you cannot receive it by any other route.
- Bill files you attach are kept in a private store that is not open to the internet. We open them with a temporary link that stops working after 7 days.
Who can see it
Us, and only us, until you say otherwise
- Only our own admin account can read quote requests, messages, notes and switch packs. The access rules on every table were checked by a security scan on 11 October 2026, and no public access was found to them.
- Suppliers and other energy companies get your details only once you tell us to proceed — normally by signing the Letter of Authority we send you. Until then nobody outside Equal Payments sees anything.
- We never sell, rent or swap your details. We do not add you to mailing lists you did not ask for.
What we use it for
To price your energy, and to look after the account
- Get you gas and electricity prices from suppliers across the market and send them to you
- Contact you about that request — by email or phone, whichever you gave us
- Check your current bill and sort billing problems, wrong readings or transfers you never agreed to
- Handle a switch, a change of tenancy or a new-business setup once you ask us to
- Keep a note of what we agreed, so whoever picks up your account can see the history
While you browse
One tool tells us which pages are useful
Like most websites we measure how the site is used, so we know which guides actually help. One tool runs in your browser when you visit:
- PostHog — records which pages you viewed, how long you stayed, the site you came from and any campaign tags on the link you clicked. It runs on their European servers.
It is not used to advertise to you around the web, and nothing is sold on. If you would rather not be counted, use the quote form by phone instead — call 01934 340105 and we will price your energy with nothing more than what you tell us on the phone.
How long we keep it
As long as your enquiry or contract needs
We keep your details while we are dealing with your request, and if you become a customer, for as long as your contract runs plus the period we need to keep records of the work we did for you. Quotes we never heard back about are not chased and are removed once they are no longer useful. If you ask us to delete your details earlier, we will, unless a law or regulation means we have to keep a specific record.
Your rights
Ask, correct, or have it deleted
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, have anything wrong corrected, or have it deleted. Ask by emailing info@equalpayments.co.uk — we will answer within one month and there is no charge. If you are unhappy with how we handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/concerns. You can also raise energy complaints with the Energy Ombudsman (our code is C35EQUA01).
If this changes
We will say so here
If we change how we handle your details, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. We will not use your details in a way that goes beyond what is written here without telling you first.
